According to statistics, approximately 2,500 Romanians die while working abroad every year. The workers, doing cheap labour, usually don't have medical insurance. The corpses sometimes languish for more than one month in the morgue until the families gather the money to take them home.

Claudiu Mitcu told FNE that it will be a film by him and Mihai Mincan, with whom he shares the writing credits. Mitcu is directing the film based on an idea by Mihai Mincan.

Radu Stancu and Mitcu are producing through DeFilm in coproduction with We Are Basca. They are still open to foreign coproducers.

The estimated budget is at least 154,166 EUR / 700,000 RON, depending on how much funding the producers raise. The National Cinema Center gave the project a production grant of 92,969 EUR / 420,000 RON at the end of May 2016.

Shooting is planned to start in autumn 2016 and will probably wrap in one year. There will most likely be two DoPs, but they are not confirmed yet. The premiere is expected in one and a half to two years. No sales agent is attached to the project yet.

Mitcu also directed The Network / Rețeaua (2015, Parada Film), a documentary about a network of volunteers transporting cancer medication from Europe to Romania and whose initiator, the bank employer Vlad Voiculescu, became well-known through the film and was eventually appointed Minister of Health.
