PRODUCTION: Tudor Giurgiu Preps At the Side of the Moon

    BUCHAREST: Tudor Giurgiu is in the casting process with his new feature film At the Side of the Moon, set for shooting in Spain and Romania in spring 2017. This Romanian/Spanish coproduction is his first project shot abroad.

    According to Radio România Actualități, Tudor Giurgiu is producing through Libra Film in coproduction with Spain's La Claqueta. Other coproducer might join.

    At the Side of the Moon will be an adaptation of the Romanian bestseller Apropierea by Marin Mălaicu Hondrari, a novel entwining four stories, mainly a romance involving a Romanian man who left his old life for a new adventure in Spain, and a Spanish woman.

    The project received a production grant of €450,838 / 2,013,000 RON from the Romanian Film Centre in April 2014. The project participated in When East Meet West in 2016.

    Antonio de la Torre is rumored to star in the film. He also starred in Cannibal (2013), a Spanish/Romanian/Russian/French coproduction involving Giurgiu's company Libra Film.
