The script written by Claudia Silişteanu and Adrian Silişteanu follows a young journalist eager to work for international press, who goes to Transylvania together with a French TV crew led by a famous journalist, to deal with the case of a young prostitute repatriated from France.

The main characters are played by Tudor Aaron Istodor and the French actor Mehdi Nebbou (Munchen, Body of Lies).

The film was produced by Romania’s 4Proof Film in coproduction with France’s Petit Film. The budget was approximately 800,000 EUR, producer Anamaria Antoci told FNE. The project received a production grant of 64,500 EUR/290,000 RON from the Romanian Film Centre in April 2013. Creative Europe, Operational Programme Basse-Normandie, Heineken Romania, Orange Romania, BRD Groupe Societe Generale and ALTEX were also supporting.

The film was shot on 20 locations in Bucharest and Bistrița for 26 days in February/March 2015. The world premiere was at Toronto IFF in 2016. Domestic Film released the film in Romania on 27 January 2017.

Adrian Sitaru, who previously made Hooked / Pescuit sportiv, Best Intentions / Din dragoste, cu cele mai bune intentii and Domestic (all of them produced by 4 Proof Film) had another feature film that premiered in 2016, Illegitimate / Ilegitim (4 Proof Film), which received the C.I.C.A.E. award at the 2016 Berlinale’s Forum.
