BUCHAREST: The teen film Oh, Ramona! by Cristina Jacob became, in its second week, the highest grossing film in Romania in 2019 with 771,241 EUR / 3,655,684 RON gross and 189,208 admissions. Oh, Ramona! surpassed the US blockbusters How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World, Ralph Breaks the Internet, Glass and Alita: Battle Angel, and the Oscar nominated films Vice and The Favourite.

The film had 111,881 admissions and 470,142 EUR / 2,209,669 RON gross in the first weekend, a record for a Romanian film in the last 30 years.

The first English language film by Cristina Jacob was produced by Zazu Film Production with support from the Romanian Film Centre. Jacob Bros released it on 15 February 2019.

The international cast includes Bogdan Iancu, Aggy K. Adams, Holly Horne, Basil Eidenbenz, Leonardo Boudreau, Andromeda Godfrey and Melanie Ebanks.

Discussions are underway for theatrical distribution in the UK, France and other countries.
