PRODUCTION: Radu Muntean films Tuesday after Christmas

Romanian filmmaker Radu Muntean began shooting Tuesday after Christmas /Marţi după Crăciun, a contemporary story about a married couple on the verge of breaking-up, on November 9.

Filming is taking place in Bucharest and Constanţa, and will wrap after 6 weeks.

"Paul Hanganu is in love with two women - Adriana, his wife of 10 years and the mother of their daughter, and Raluca, the woman who helped him redefine himself. He has to choose before Christmas," Radu Muntean said, summerizing the plot for FNE.

Muntean is currently working with his colleagues, scriptwriters Alexandru Baciu and Răzvan Rădulescu (with whom he wrote The Paper Will Be Blue and Boogie), DOP Tudor Lucaciu, and producer Dragoş Vilcu. The main characters are played by young generation Romanian actors Mimi Brănescu, Mirela Oprişor, Maria Popistaşu and Dragoş Bucur, along with acclaimed actor Victor Rebengiuc.

The film is produced by Multimedia Est ( and received a €324,500 grant from the National Film Centre (, the biggest grant received by a Romanian production in 2009. The final budget is of €837,000.
