Radu Muntean's fourth feature after Rage, The Paper Will Be Blue and Boogie will complete postproduction by the end of January 2010.
The director told FNE that the film will be sent to all major festivals. The date of the Romanian premiere has not been set.
Postproduction took place in Romania, Hungary and Germany. The film is a contemporary story about a young man who, at over the Christmas season, has to choose between his wife and daugther, and his mistress. Shooting started November 9, 2009 and lasted 6 weeks.
The film is produced by Multimedia Est (www.mme.ro) and received a €324,500 grant from the National Cinema Centre (www.cncinema.abt.ro), toward a budget of €837,000. It was thebiggest grantreceived in 2009 by a Romanian production. The film is supported by the agencies McCann-Erickson (www.mccann.ro), MediaDesk (www.media-desk.ro), Mindshare Media (www.mindshareworld.com), Next Advertising (www.next.advertising.ro), Spoon Media (www.spoon.ro) and Optimedia (www.optimedia.ro).
The cast includes young actors -- Mimi Brănescu, Mirela Oprişor, Maria Popistaşu and Dragoş Bucur -- along with the acclaimed Victor Rebengiuc. Bucur, who will soon participate in the Berlinale program Shooting Stars, worked with Radu Muntean in all his previous features.
The director wrote the script with his long term colleagues, Alexandru Baciu and Răzvan Rădulescu. Tudor Lucaciu is the DOP, and Dragoş Vîlcu is the producer.
