4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days awarded Best European Film

    The Romanian film 4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days was awarded Best European Film at the 20th European Film Awards in Berlin Saturday.

    Its director, Cristian Mungiu, also picked up the award for Best European Director.

    Voting was conducted among the 1,800 members of the European Film Academy on nominations that were announced at the Seville Film Festival.

    The 20th European Film Awards were supported by the FFA German Federal Film Board, Hauptstadtkulturfonds Berlin, the MEDIA Plus Programme of the EU, Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg, the German State Minister of Culture and the Media, and Stiftung Deutsche Klassenlotterie Berlin.
