TLC Launches in Romania

    BUCHAREST: The Discovery Channel (www.yourdiscovery.com/web/find-us-on-tv/romania/) launched the women entertainment channel TLC in Romania on 20 January 2011 on the basic analog and digital packages of UPC (www.upc.ro) and AKTA (www.digitalcable.ro), and is in negotiations with other Romanian firms.

    TLC (http://tlc.discovery.com) is one of the most popular women's channels in the United States. The first international TLC launched in Norway on 4 March 2010. The channel expanded in Poland, Serbia, Slovenia and Bulgaria on 1 October 2010 and in Russia on 14 January 2011. TLC is available today in 30 countries in Europa, Asia and Latin America.

    In Romania Discovery Networks manages Discovery Channel, TLC, Animal Planet, Discovery World, Discovery Science, Discovery Travel&Living, Discovery HD Showcase, and ID Investigation Discovery.
