The Autobiography of Nicolae Ceauşescu Racks up New Sales

BUCHAREST: Romanian documentary director Andrei Ujică's The Autobiography of Nicolae Ceauşescu (www.autobiografia.ro) was sold to the USA to be distributed by Film Desk (http://www.thefilmdesk.com/) and to the Benelux territory where the distributor is Eye Film Institute (www.eyefilm.nl), representatives of Mandragora Movies (www.mandragora.ro) told FNE. The French premeire of the acclaimed film took place on 13 April 2011, followed by the Dutch premiere on 14 April.

The film has been distributed in Italy (Cinecitta Luce, http://www.cinecitta.com/wp/index.php), Portugal (Clap Filmes, http://www.clapfilmes.pt/), France (Mandragora International), and Romania (Voodoo Film). Mandragora International is handling the sales.

Ujica's film topped the indieWIRE chart of undistributed films in the United States at the end of 2010 and also entered the Sight &Sound charts for 2010.
