BRATISLAVA: The 15th IFF Bratislava will host three competition sections: a competition of first and second feature films, a competition of documentary films and a competition of short films.

Programme director Nenad Dukić noted that the competition of first and second feature films is dominated by European titles, saying, “Europe can count with the potential of its young creators.”

Films selected for the competition include The Reunion directed by conceptual artist Anny Odell (Sweden), winner of the FIPRESCI award in Venice; Major directed by Sergey Sobolev (Russia); A Stranger directed by Bobo Jelcic, a coproduction from Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia (coproduced by Croatian TV); Class Enemy directed by Rok Bicek (Slovenia), multiple winner of the Slovene Film Festival; and Two Mothers directed by Anne Zohra Berrached (Germany).

One of the highlights of the festival will be the presentation of the Award for Artistic Excellence in World Cinematography to Danish writer/director/cinematographer Bille August, accompanied by a screening of his 2013 film Night Train to Lisbon.

The festival, which runs 6-12 November 2013, will take place in four cinema locations in Bratislava, including the newly opened Film Europe Kino.
