Love in Your Soul Sets Slovak Box Record

    BRATISLAVA: A new Slovak fairytale Love in Your Soul/Láska na Vlásku directed by Mariana Čengel Solčanská has had the best opening weekend for a domestic feature film in the last three years. The film which opened 9 October gathered 14, 427 admissions during its first weekend in cinemas and a total of 17,772 viewers have seen it so far.

    The film was released by the Slovak distribution company Continental Film.

    The cast includes Samuel Spisak playing a double role of a young prince (inspired by a historical character) and a look-alike peasant; Celeste Buckingham is the princess and also performs the main song of the film Love in Your Soul, and Judit Bardos plays a young villager who becomes the love of the prince. Czech actor Tomas Hanak plays the king. When the prince and the peasant meet coincidentally, the two decide to swap places for a day and eventually become trapped in their roles unable to convince others of their plot.
