The story written by Nada Clontz follows a group of Czechoslovak and Islandic enthusiasts in the 80s walking on the footsteps of Jules Verne to a cave on the Islandic volcano Snaefell where they hope to find the entrance to the centre of the Earth.

The film is a Slovak/Czech coproduction between Silvia Panáková through ARINA and Miloslav Šmídmajer throughBio illusion. The estimated budget is 1.5 m EUR, Panáková told FNE. The Slovak Audiovisual Fund and The Czech State Fund for the Support and Development of Czech Cinematography are already supporting.

Asked about her impressions of MIDPOINT, Silvia Panáková told FNE: "It was a very useful experience for the whole team. Nada Clontz, the scriptwriter,  and  the dramaturgist Biba Bohinská appreciated the advice and comments received from the American lector Martin Daniel and also from the experienced local Slovak experts and colleagues, who helped us prepare the final draft of our project in the best way possible."

Shooting is scheduled to begin in November 2015 with the premiere planned for 2017.
