Galina Miklinová is responsible for the design and she also wrote the script together with Pavel Šrut. Ondrej Trojan is producing through Total HelpArt in coproduction with Zuzana Mistriková and Lubica Orechovská through Slovakia’s PubRes.
With a target group set from 5 to 100 years, The Oddsockeaters follows those small creatures responsible for the socks that go missing. They eat socks, but only one from each pair. “Oddsockeaters are a very attractive topic for an animated film. I could see a clear blueprint for a full-length, family film, constructed on two levels: one aimed at children and one at adults”, says Galina Miklinová in a statement.
The budget is 1,435,000 EUR, Zuzana Mistriková said in Žilina, where she presented the project in a case studies section of the 8th Fest Anča International Animation Film Festival (festanca.sk). The project is supported with 300,000 EUR by the Czech Film Fund and with 144,000 EUR by the Slovak Audiovisual Fund (avf.sk). The Czech Television is also supporting. The production started in 2014 and will wrap in 2016.
