PRODUCTION: LECA Production and Andrei Konchalovsky Develop Alexander Dubček Biopic

    BRATISLAVA: Slovakia’s LECA Production and the acclaimed Russian director Andrei Konchalovsky are preparing Human Face (working title), a feature film inspired by the life of the Slovak politician and leader of Prague Spring Alexander Dubček. Shooting is planned for May 2017.

    Human Face / Ľudská Tvár is the first film produced by Slovakia’s LECA Production. The team working on the development of the film consists of director Andrei Konchalovsky, scriptwriters Karol Hlávka and Zuzana Gindl-Tatárová and producer Beata Greneche.

    The budget is 5 m EUR. Negotiations with Slovak and foreign coproduction partners are underway as LECA Production also plans to apply for the financial support of the Slovak Audiovisual Fund.

    The film will be shot in several countries: Slovakia, Czech Republic, Russia, Italy, France and Spain. Postproduction is due for November 2017.

    According to the producer Andrej Antonio Leca from LECA Production, the film should premiere in spring 2018, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Prague Spring and Czechoslovakia’s occupation.
