FESTIVALS: Polish Documentary Dust Wins 25th Slovak MFFK Febiofest

    BRATISLAVA: Polish short documentary Dust / Proch directed by Jakub Radej was awarded best film at the 25th edition of MFFK Febiofest. The festival took place in Bratislava from 15 to 21 March 2018.

    The competition introduced a selection of 20 fiction, documentary, animated and experimental short films from Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Austria.

    The festival screened more than 100 films including The Insects / Hmyz directed by Jan Švankmajer (a Czech/Slovak coproduction), Freedom / Sloboda directed by Jan Speckenbach (a German/Slovak coproduction) and the documentary Svetlé miesta / The Bright Spots directed by the acclaimed Slovak filmmaker Dušan Trančík and produced by Filmpark in coproduction with RTVS.

    The selection of Febiofest films will travel to another 10 cities across Slovakia. The main organiser of MFFK Febiofest is the Association of Slovak Film Clubs.
