FNE at Art Film Fest Košice 2021: New Slovak Films Premiere at Live Audience Event in Cinemas

    KOŠICE: Nine films will compete for the main prize, the Blue Angel, in the International competition of the 28th Art Film Fest Košice, which takes place 23 – 27 June 2021. Art Film Fest is the first major film event to take place physically in Slovakia after the second wave of the pandemic.

    The traditional section Slovak Season will present 12 new Slovak films, four feature films and eight documentaries. Most of them, including the opening film Man with Rabbit Ears / Muž so zajačími ušami, Cook, F**k, Kill / Žaby bez jazyka by Mira Fornay and White on White / Biela na bielej by Viera Čákanyová, will have their long-awaited Slovak premieres in the festival.

    The Mission Award will be bestowed to the Czech actor, moderator and comic Petr Nárožný, while the director and cinematographer Jaroslav Siakeľ will receive the President of the Festival Award in memoriam on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the creation of the first Slovak feature film.
