Fornay presents My Dog Killer at Berlin coproduction market

By Jana Kadlecová

Slovak director Mira Fornay who premiere of her Irish-Slovak-Czech feature debut Foxes at Venice, will present her second film project Brat (My Dog Killer) at the Berlinale Co-production Market February 14-16.

"It means that we have a chance to find a producer and so to co-finance our project. It will also increase the possibility to succeed in the international as well as domestic markets," Fornay told FNE.

Fornay also wrote the script, which won the Slovak competition for young screemwriters (under age 35), Tibor Vichta Award. As with Foxes, it is an intimate story about young adults.

The Slovak-Czech co-production also has the same producers as Foxes: Czech company Cineart TV Prague and Slovak company Mirafox. "I would like to meet with the producer from EU during the one-to-one meetings," Fornay said.Fornay's film will be one of 37 selected projects presented to 450 potential co-production partners and funding organizations.

Shooting is planned to begin at the end of 2010. Casting has just started.
