Little Violent Robinson plans distribution

By Jana Kadlecová

The Slovak documentary film Little Violet Robinson from director Tina Diosi is planning distribution in summer 2010.

The film is produced by Furia Film Ltd. (www.furiafilm.sk), established by Diosi and producer Livia Filusova.

The premiere of the film in the Slovak distribution is "depending upon receiving a grant for transferring the film from digital form and producing copies for the cinema," Diosi told FNE.

The full-length documentary shows a life of the famous Slovak poet and text writer Jozef Urban who tragically died when he was 34.

"The budget of the film is 146,000 EUR. Slovak public television STV (www.stv.sk) supported film with 7,600 Euro and by providing the archive materials. The Ministry of Culture granted the film 35,000 for the development and production," Filusova told FNE.

The producers are waiting a response to their grant request from the Audiovisual Fund (www.avf.sk). Distribution in cinemas will be provided by the Association of the Slovak film Clubs (www.asfk.sk). Until then the film may be seen in digital form at festivals.
