PORTOROZ: Ivona Juka‘s family drama You Carry Me, a Croatian/Slovenian/Serbian coproduction, will be screened in the competition of the 18th Slovenian Film Festival. The festival takes place from 15 to 20 September 2015.
The film tells the story of three women struggling for a better life. Dora is a schoolgirl with a fierce love of soccer and a complex relationship with her father. Ives, a soap opera producer lives on an emotional edge due to sharing an apartment with her ageing father. Her co-worker Nataša is wrestling with serious problems ranging from troubled cast members to marital tensions, including her pregnancy.
4Film is producing in coproduction with Slovenia's Vertigo and the Serbia's Sloan Film Productions, with a support in the amount of 129,000 EUR from the Slovenian Film Center, Studio Viba Film, Croatian Audiovisual Center, Eurimages, Croatian Radiotelevision, City of Zagreb Tourist Board and City of Split and Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Serbia.
Ivona Juka’s feature debut was screened at this year’s 50th edition of Karlovy Vary International Film Festival. In Croatia it has admisssions of more than half a million. The Slovene cinema release is set for 2 November 2015, Slovene coproducer Danijel Hocevar told FNE.
