Slovenian Film Fund gets over 7 million Euros

    The Slovenian government confirmed that the Slovenian Film Fund will recive more than 7.2 million Euros to finance Slovenian film production in 2009, in announcing operating and financial plans for 2009.

    The funding will also go toward the completion of projects started in 2007 and 2008.

    According to the plan, during 2009 the Slovenian Film Fund (www.film-sklad.si) will co-finance five features and four short films which will be chosen according to applications on public notice.

    The daily Dnevnik reports that the bulk of the financial support will go to the three full-feature films. Two are from the production company Vertigo (www.emotionfilm.si), for a film directed by Metod Pevec and a film directed by Andrej Košak. The third is from the production company Staragara (www.staragara.com), for a film directed by Jan Cvitkovič.
