Slovenia Signs Coproduction Agreement with France

    The Slovenian Film Center (www.film-center.si) announced that he Slovenian and French Ministers of Culture, Majda Širca and Frédéric Mitterand, have signed a film co‑production agreement in Brussels. The agreement will establish the foundation for cooperation in film productions.

    While both countries have signed the European Convention on Coproductions, France asked for an additional bilateral agreement.

    The agreement also encourages cooperation in film distribution and promotion.

    Slovenian and French producers have participated in two coproductions to date: No Man's Land (2001) and Circus Columbia (2010). Both films were directed by Bosnian director Danis Tanović. No Man's Land won the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film.
