FNE at Connecting Cottbus: Motherland

    COTTBUS: Turkish writer/director Senem Tüzen will make her feature film debut with Motherland, a struggle between a traditionalist mother and daughter, who moves to the city.

    The film is produced by Yeni Simenacilar, Tatofilm and Zela Film, with financing from the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism, and in-kind support from Melodika post-production and Istanbul Kamera Isik Grip. The budget is 600,000 EUR with 200,000 EUR in place. A fall/winter shoot is planned.

    The filmmakers were at Cottbus seeking coproducers from German, France, Norway and the Netherlands.
