Argentinean Lesson" Awarded with the Silver Dove Prize in Leipzig

"Argentinean Lesson" by Wojciech Staron got the Silver Dove Prize at the prestigious 54. DOK Leipzig in Germany. It's been the film's international premiere.

"Argentinean Lesson" has been produced by the Staron Film and TVP1. The film's visual aesthetics, its rhythm and composition parallel a narration of a fiction film, while it shows a process of a slow integration of a 8-year-old boy into the completely strange cultural environment. The main character is the director's son who comes to Argentina from Poland with his mother, a teacher of Polish, and befriends a Argentinean girl. This friendship brings a new set of problems to his world.

DOK Leipzig took place between October 17 - 23, and presented 12 films in the main competition. Grand Prix - the Golden Dove Prize went to the Mexican film "The Tiniest Place" by Tatiana Huezo, presenting the long-term social consequences of the revolution in the El Salvador, while the Special Jury Mention has been granted to the next Polish production: "Phnom Penh Lullaby" by Paweł Kloc.

Soon, the "Argentinean Lesson" will be also shown in the International Competition of the next outstanding event - Festival dei Popoli in Florence, whose 52nd edition starts on November 12.
