GOLDEN CARPATHIAN FILM MARKET AT THE SECOND EDITION

    130 guests from 20 countries participating in the only Romanian fair

    dedicated to cinematography

    10,000 euros for the most promising project

    Between 23 to 26 August 2012, at Cinema Patria, will be held the second edition of the only Romanian film market, GOLDEN CARPATHIAN, organized by the Asssociation for European Cultural Integration, Idea Zone Agency with the support of Ministry of Culture, National Center of Cinematography and RADEF Romania Film.

     

    During the the second edition of Romanian film fair there will be a contest in which 17 film projects from 20 countries are presented to the production houses participating at the film market. The film project with the best chance of success, designated following an evaluation done by a jury made of important representatives of cinema, will receive a prize of 10,000 euro. During the four-day event, eight films from Palestine, Croatia, Tunisia, USA, and Ukraine will be screened for the guests and the public.

     The jury of the second edition of Golden Carpathian Film Market is composed of representatives of the Hungary, film director Adam Cselleng – the jury chairman, Albania – producer Altin Prifti and Azerbaijan  –  producer Ayoube Daneshvar.

     Of the 17 film projects competing, 4 are from Serbia and one each from Bosnia-Herzegovina, England, Croatia, the Netherlands, Poland, Turkey, Moldova Hungary, Czech Republic, Jordan, Ukraine, Tunisia and Palestine. Guests from 20 countries on 4 continents – Albania, Azerbaijan, Czech Republic, China, Croatia, France, Hungary, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Moldova, The Netherlands, Poland, Russia, Serbia, Romania, Tunisia, Turkey, Ukraine, United Kingdom, U.S.A. – will have the opportunity to trade and form partnerships.

     The organizers aim that, this year also, the only Romanian film market to be an opportunity for filmmakers, producers, distributors and other film industry representatives to meet in a professional atmosphere, to present their movies, to sell or acquire productions or broadcasting rights or to find co-producers for future productions.

    Alongside the participants in the film projects competition of which winner will receive a prize of 10,000 euro, there will be present exhibitors and buyers from the film world and international media representatives, remarkable being this time the presence of the famous magazine Variety.

    Carpathian Golden is the first film market organized in Romania, fully dedicated to the film industry. The first edition was held last year in the Golden Carpathian – Ploieşti European Film & Fair. Golden Carpathian is the first film fair that intends to support Romanian producers who have thus an opportunity to popularize their films and projects and form business partnerships with representatives of cinema around the world.
