CentEast Warsaw-Moscow 2012 – Film Presentations Programme

    Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,


    It is our pleasure to announce the titles of films that will be presented during this year’s CentEast Warsaw-Moscow event. The presentations are a unique opportunity for works-in-progress from Eastern Europe to mark their presence in the international film distribution market.
    Screenings for film professionals will be held on two different days in two different cities:
    - 16 October – in Moscow during the Red Square Screenings film market, www.rac-cb.com;
    - 19 October – in Warsaw during the 8th CentEast Market Warsaw, www.centeast.eu.

     

    This year we have received a record-breaking number of applications and have short listed for the presentations the following ten films:
    1. Breaking Loose (Vosmerka), dir. Alexey Uchitel, Russia
    2. Children Of The Fall (Djeca jeseni), dir. Goran Rukavina, Croatia
    3. Traffic Department (Drogówka), dir. Wojciech Smarzowski, Poland
    4. Green Jacket (Zelena kofta), dir. Volodymyr Tykhyy, Ukraine
    5. Liza The Fox-Fairy (Liza, a Rókatündér), dir. Károly Ujj Mészáros, Hungary
    6. Pipeline (Truba), dir. Vitaly Manskiy, Russia/Germany
    7. The Blacksmith From Woodham (Kovář z Podlesí), dir. Pavel Göbl, The Czech Republic
    8. The Japanese Dog (Cainele Japonez), dir. Tudor Cristian Jurgiu, Romania
    9. The Land Of Good Kids (Strana Khoroshikh Detochek), dir. Olga Kaptur, Russia
    10. The Unsaved (La Limita de Jos a Cerului), dir. Igor Cobileanski, Romania/Moldova
     
    During the last three editions of CentEast Warsaw-Moscow we have already presented 37 films. Two Polish films showcased last year, namely Baby Blues by Katarzyna Rosłaniec and Imagine by Andrzej Jakimowski recently celebrated their world premieres at the Toronto IFF. The sales agent for Imagine is Beta Cinema.
    The confirmed guests of the 8th CentEast Market Warsaw include sales agents from East-West Filmdistribution, Films Boutique, Films Distribution, Global Screen, m-appeal, Memento Films International, Rezo, Trust Nordisk, Wide Management, as well as film selectors from major film festivals such as Cannes Film Festival (Semaine de la Critique), Edinburgh International Film Festival, Göteborg International Film Festival, Film Fest Hamburg, Helsinki International Film Festival, International Film Festival Prague – FebioFest, International Film Festival Rotterdam, Riga International Film Festival, San Sebastian Film Festival, Sofia International Film Festival and Tribeca Film Festival. The special guest of the 8th CentEast Market Warsaw will be the director of the Ukrainian State Film Agency, Ms. Kateryna Kopylova.
