Slovak Films - November News

    Herewith, I am sending some news on Slovak films.

    MADE in ASH (orig. Až do mesta Aš) by Iveta Grófová,SK-CZ 2012, received the Best Director Award at TOFI Fest (Torun, Poland).

    THE GYPSY VOTE (orig. Cigáni idú do volieb) by Jaro Vojtek, SK-CZ 2012, world-premiered at Jihlava Documentary Film festival awarded with the Special mention of the Silver Eye Jury.

    Another world premiere in Jihlava, NEW LIFE OF FAMILY ALBUM (orig. Nový život) by a Slovak filmmaker Adam Oľha, CZ-SK 2012, was appreciated by the viewers of the festival and received the Audience Award!

    Slovak Films represent a considerable part of the festival´s program, including a special retrospective to Štefan Uher (1930 – 1993), with THE SUN IN A NET (CS 1962), as the leading film of the retrospective.

    In its 17th edition, Bratislava International Film Festival (Nov. 9-15, 2012) traditionally presents Slovak films:

    the Slovak full-length and short films produced in the last year, are presented in the program sectionMade in Slovakia, which this year for the first time introduces a Competition of Slovak Feature Films. An international Jury will consider 7 recent Slovak films.
