Baltic Event Co-Production Market Awards Announced

    The Baltic Event Co-Production Market award ceremony was hosted by the City of Tallinn in its beautiful Gothic Town Hall yesterday. The 12th Baltic Event, taking place on November 26-29, granted five awards, including the first ever Clear Light Award in the amount of 5400 Euros.

    Baltic Event2The Best Project award, 5000 Euros worth of post-production services granted by the Estonian Digital Centre for the third year, went to Romanian project Miracle in Cluj, represented by executive producer Melinda Boros and director Botond Püsök.

    Another traditional prize of the Co-Production Market—the Best Pitch Award by the market’s long-time partner Screen International was given out for the fifth time this year. As a result of the vote, Screen’s representative Martin Blaney handed the diploma to Lithuanian producer Uljana Kim, whose project Seneca's Day is directed by acclaimed director Kristijonas Vildžiūnas and aimed to be the first ever co-production between all three Baltic countries.     Baltic Event3Cannes Marché du film Producers' Network awarded free accreditation for their 2014 edition to two young and promising producers-- one in the Co-Production Market selection and the other among Baltic Bridge East by West training initiative graduates. The first went to Baltic Event's first ever Danish participant Mille Haynes, representing the project Say Something, Pierrot!, and Lithuania took home a second award as the other Producer’s Network accreditation went to Lukas Trimonis, the producer of Miracle.

    Baltic Event4And last but not least-- the 5400 Euros worth of lighting services by the Estonian company Digital Sputnik went to Making Movies Oy producers Kaarle Aho and Kai Nordberg and Finland's newest rising star director Jussi Hiltunen with their Lapland western Law of the Land.

    The 12th edition of Baltic Event, the largest co-production platform in the region of Northern and Central Europe, hosted nearly 300 guests from over 30 countries.
