IRON SKY –DIRECTOR EXPANDING TO ADVERTISEMENTS

Finnish film director Timo Vuorensola and Blind Spot Pictures, who made a hugely successful entry to international film business by releasing scifi-comedy Iron Sky last year, has signed a deal with RAWLAND Productions, who start representing the director for domestic and international advertisements.

Rawland Productions Oy’s CEO Niko Waaralinna is happy for the collaboration, and sees there is a market for Vuorensola’s speciality, challenging, visual effects –driven advertisements.

In addition for visual effects, Vuorensola is interested in the change in the advertising industry. “I believe the content is changing, becoming more multi-platform –based, and focusing more on not just spreading the word, but creating a community around products”, Vuorensola says. Together with Tero Kaukomaa of Blind Spot Pictures, they created a community of millions of people from around the world around Iron Sky franchise.

The GPN (Global Production Nework) connection of Rawland is an opportunity for Vuorensola to work internationally. “Vuorensola has been doing great work on international field of films for years now, it’s only natural to continue this trend on advertising as well”, Waaralinna says.

Vuorensola is also expanding his film business to more international fields. Having signed to several US film productions as a director, and working on a sequel for Iron Sky, he is eyeing to release several feature films for international markets in the coming years.
