EDN ANNUNCES THREE NEW ONLINE PITCHING SESSIONS

EDN – European Documentary Network has just announced three new editions of their EDN Online Pitching Sessions. These sessions are thematic pitchings based on an online videoconference, where a selected number of documentary projects are presented.

Through the EDN Online Pitching Sessions documentary projects with a specific focus are pitched to financiers and distributors. The online pitching format started in September 2010 and has proven to be an easy and cost effective way of matching filmmakers with financiers. Among the projects being pitched have been:

    • You’ve Been Trumpedby Anthony Baxter. Premiered at Hot Docs 2011
    • The Brussels Businessby Friedrich Moser & Matthieu Lietaert. Theatrical distribution in Germany, Austria, Belgium and other European countries
    • How Are You by Jannik Splidsboel. Premiered at Berlinale 2011
    • A Moon On My Brow / Going up the Stairs by Rokhsareh Ghaem Maghami, Iran. Nominated in the IDFA Competition for Mid-Length Documentary.

During an EDN Online Pitching Session four documentary projects are pitched to a key group of leading international financiers. The pitching takes place online in the EDN Video Conference Room and each session lasts one hour. This means an effective and focused way of matching documentary makers with relevant financiers and funders.
