ANDY GLYNNE NEW EDN CHAIRMAN

The Executive Committee of EDN - European Documentary Network has elected Andy Glynne as the new chairman of the organisation.

The British director and producer Andy Glynne has been elected as Chairman of EDN, the documentary organisation involved in over 50 documentary events a year and serving 1000+ members. Glynne takes the position with immediate effect.

Andy Glynne is a double-BAFTA winning director, producer and author. He is currently the Managing Director of Mosaic Films, and is the Founding CEO of the Documentary Filmmakers Group, the UK’s national documentary organisation. He will continue these duties alongside his position as EDN Chairman.

Upon his appointment Andy Glynne stated: ‘EDN is at unique point in its evolution, and with a dedicated team and Paul Pawels at the helm, this is an incredibly exciting time to be part of the organisation, as it strengthens and grows its position as the main pan-European organisation for documentary film. I’m incredibly honoured to be elected into the role of EDN Chairman and look very much forward to working with the team and the rest of the Executive Committee throughout 2014 and beyond’.

Andy Glynne takes the position as chairman of EDN after the Dutch producer Kees Ryninks, who chose not to run for re-election after the EDN general assembly in November. This is due to an increasing amount of film productions he is currently managing. Kees has accepted to stay on board as a member of the Executive Committee, where his experience and knowledge will continue to be a source of inspiration.

The EDN Chairman is elected for a one-year period, and is decided among the members of the EDN Executive Committee. The process of electing a new chairman follows the yearly EDN General Assembly in November, where all EDN members can vote for candidates to the EDN Executive Committee.
