Four Projects Approved for Latvian Co-Financing Fund

    National Film Centre of Latvia announces the results of the tender for co-financing foreign film productions. Up to 25% of eligible film related expenditure can be obtained by the tender winners as cash rebate when filming is completed. From eight projects submitted four were approved for co-financing contracts with the National Film Centre. The total budget of the programme is approximately EUR 400 000, distributed as following:

    1.      Boheme International project Son in cooperation with the Ivan  (Russia). Co-financing grant - 86 383 EUR. Cumulated with Riga Film Fund grant.

    2.      Boheme International project Best Men in cooperation with the production studio Amalgama Studio (Russia). Co-financing grant – 168 409 EUR

    3.      Ego Media project DED_05 in cooperation with the production studio Sine Pro (Russia). Co-financing grant – 94 977 EUR

    4.      Picturehouse project Devil’s Outlaw in cooperation with the production studio Devils Outlaw Limited/Cinatura(UK). Co-financing grant – 77 102 EUR

    Co-financing intensity of 25 % from the total sum of the eligible costs is applied if the film story takes place in Latvia. Co-financing intensity of 20% is applied if the film is shot in Latvia without identifying references but the local film services are used.

    Gradual increase of financial support is planned in the following years. The financial instrument is approved by the European Commission.
