APPLY FOR EX ORIENTE FILM 2014 !

    Institute of Documentary Film is calling for participants for the new edition of the year-long international workshop - Ex Oriente Film 2014 dedicated to creative documentary film.
    Apply with your documentary project and take part in the most renowned training initiative designed specifically for the Central and Eastern Europe region!

    Application is free of charge, open through our onlineENTRY FORM until June 1, 2014!

    The first session, called “Find Your Originality” will take place in July in Rijeka, Croatia and host top European tutors and filmmakers. Among the already confirmed tutors are for example: Mikael Opstrup (Head of Studies at EDN), Marijke Rawie (Consultant, ExpertDoc), Rada Šešić(Festival selector, film critic and lecturer. IDFA, Rotterdam IFF, Sarajevo IFF),Filip Remunda (Director and producer, Hypermarket Film), Jean-Pierre Rehm (Director of FIDMarseille), Audrius Stonys (Director), Ivo Trajkov(Director, Head of Editing Department at FAMU), Magnus Gertten (Director and Producer, Autoimages), Šejla Kamerić (Visual Artist), Amra Bakšić Čamo(Producer,CineLink, Sarajevo IFF) and others.

    2014/ 2015  Workshop Timeline:
    - 1st Session: July 21 – 26, 2014 (Rijeka, Croatia, in cooperation with REFINERI workshop)
    - 2nd Session: October 22 – 28, 2014 (Jihlava, Czech Republic, within Jihlava IDFF)
    - 3rd Session & East European Forum: March 2 – 8, 2015 (Prague, Czech Republic, within East Doc Platform and One World IFF)

    Participants:
    We are looking for 12-14 documentary projects represented by director-producer teams who attend all the workshop sessions.

    Focus:
    Feature length (52´up) documentary projects tackling contemporary topics, challenging genre and media boundaries and audience participation. We welcome filmmakers who set out to conduct intense experiences and to change the way we think about topical issues, audiences, and the world itself. Projects we seek should show engagement beyond mere observation of events and integrate film and audiences, using innovative ways of storytelling and new modes of perception.

    IS YOUR FILM ALREADY FINISHED?

    Sumbit it for EAST SILVER, the largest internationally recognized database of creative feature and television documentary films from Central and Eastern Europe and join the 11th East Silver Market in Jihlava. Submit your documentary via our online ENTRY FORMbyJune 30, 2014.
    Your submission will be also valid for the 18th Jihlava International Documentary Film Festival 2014.
