MIDPOINT TV Launch 2018 – open call

     

    Writers and producers of TV series – get ready for the 2018 edition of MIDPOINT TV Launch. The call is now open.

    MIDPOINT TV Launch is an "idea-to-market" project development program, focused on scripted formats of miniseries or ongoing, episodic TV series that can sustain multiple seasons. Both half-hour and one-hour series proposals are accepted, and emphasis is on content-rich, compelling stories and innovative series concepts both high-end and low budget.

    Who can apply

    The program is aimed at teams of writers/producers and secondarily directors and focuses primarily on Central-Eastern Europe, the Balkans, the Baltic countries and the wider Mediterranean area. Participants can have a background in filmmaking or in TV writing, with the wish to shift to quality television production.

    Workshop format

    The three residential workshops plus online consultations will give participants the opportunity to develop their series concept, pilot script, pitch documents and pitching skills within a constructive, supportive atmosphere.

    The methodological tools are group work, individual consultations with tutors, tutorial analysis, lectures, expert presentations and pitching. The participants will also be actively writing during the workshop working days, under the supervision of the tutors. 

    Awards

    MIDPOINT's partner HBO Europe will grant a financial annual award to honor the best project.

    C21 Media will grant a one-year subscription to their content to one producer participant, and all participants will receive a 3 months subscription.

    MIDPOINT Feature Launch 2018 – open call

    The call for MIDPOINT's platform for teams of feature filmmakers is also now open. It is a unique training platform for emerging film professionals from the region, and since its expansion and new partnership with Trieste Film FestivalWhen East Meets West and Karlovy Vary International Film Festival, it will run from January and for a whole year. Featuring two workshops focusing on project development, financing and co-production opportunities; plus a brand new presentation platform, and a follow-up session. We welcome teams of writers, directors and producers who is developing their first or second feature.

    MIDPOINT Shorts 2018 – open call

    This year MIDPOINT has opened a special workshop program dedicated to short fiction films in development. Within the two residential workshops, teams of writers, directors and producers get to develop their script as well as prepare the production and promotional aspects of their projects. The feedback format is based on one-to-one tutoring as well as group feedback.
