Cancelation the current edition of VFF

After eight years of the Visegrad Film Forum and facing various challenges that are mainly related to making our guests and visitors satisfied, it’s about time we have to make a tough decision. Based on the current situation in Europe and Bratislava a.k.a. the spread of the COVID-19 virus, we’ve decided to cancel the current edition of our event, which was to be held on March 10-14. We will let you know whether we will cancel VFF completely or just put it off to a later time.

We’re sure that the situation with the spread of the virus is well handled in Bratislava and Slovakia and that’s why there is no reason for panic. To this very date, only 5 positive cases have been confirmed. However, this is precisely THE situation, in which we must take better measures to avoid the spread of infection. We are now monitoring the situation and we respect the recommendations of the City of Bratislava (as well as the instructions of several city districts) to put off or cancel events with a large number of visitors. Although our event is a small one, it still gathers people from more than 10 countries at one place during a whole week, which we see as not the best way to help to stop the virus from spreading at this time. It is likely that if you practice good rules of hygiene, you can prevent the infection, but we don’t want to take the risk...

In the following days or weeks, we will keep you informed and tell you more about how we decide to continue. We will contact all those who have already purchased accreditation about our further steps individually.

We apologize to all participants, partners, guests, but we believe you will understand our decision.
