    Film submissions to the 25th Ji.hlava IDFF are now open!

    We are now receiving submissions for the 25th Ji.hlava IDFF and look forward to seeing your films. We accept feature-length and short films, animated and interactive documentaries. The films premiered in Jihlava have a chance to be nominated for the European Film Academy Awards and the winners at the Ji.hlava IDFF are also eligible for Oscar® consideration in the Documentary Short Subject and Documentary Feature Subject categories.     Call for EMERGING PRODUCERS 2022

    The EMERGING PRODUCERS workshop, an acclaimed programme focusing on the training and promotion of talented European documentary film producers, is now open for applications. The tenth edition of the programme will take place on October 25–29, 2021 (Jihlava) and in February 2022 (Berlin).     East Doc Platform drawing near

    East Doc Platform, organized by the Institute of Documentary Film, will take place online on March 6–17. You can get your Industry Pass for this co-production, funding and distribution platform tailor-made for Central and East European docs until February 26. The third Ex Oriente Film 2020/21 workshop session, running during the East Doc Platform, announced names of its tutors, which include filmmaker and Ji.hlava Academy lecturer Anja Salomonowitz, director of the acclaimed Collective Alexander Nanau, and creator of social media video novels Maya Daisy Hawke.

    Online Cinema DAFilms Launches Asian Domain

    Streaming service DAFilms gives documentary and festival enthusiasts a chance to explore diverse Asian cinema on a new domain: asia.dafilms.com. A major online retrospective of Japanese independent filmmaker Kazuhiro Soda and Wang Bing’s Cannes-selected Dead Souls are accompanying this release. Viewers in Asia can now access a broad catalogue of films for only $6.99 for a monthly subscription or $4.99 for an annual one.
