Last week in South Korea, the first event gathering European and Korean animation professionals took place with the support of MEDIA International. A true encounter happened, as demonstrated by the common enthusiasm and interest of the 120 participants, and the promising results in terms of cooperation.
After several training sessions on the European and Korean audiovisual landscapes and 2 enlightening case studies on successful coproductions, the event switched to another mode: about 1 000 one-to-one meetings of 15 minutes were organised, aiming at studying cooperation possibilities. Efficient and quick, the meetings prepared the ground for some future longer negotiations. Producers seemed to enjoy the formula and several deals should come out of it.
