THE BRAND NEW POLISH DOCUMENTARIES ON DVD

    Promoting the latest Polish cinematography in the form of the collection of films on DVD is more and more visible. The perfect example is the recently released DVD edition "Polish Docs 2010", which appeared thanks to Krakow Film Foundation.

    Following the example of the two DVD editions "Polish Shorts 2008" and "Polish Shorts 2009" released during last two years, containing the selection of the latest from among the short film produced in Poland, Krakow Film Foundation prepared a similar compilation - "Polish Docs 2010" with Polish documentary cinema.

    The "Polish Docs 2010" DVD contains a selection of the latest and the most interesting documentary films, which were made in 2009 and 2010, having great international potential, and beginning their international career at foreign film festivals. This publication came into being for the promotion of Polish documentary cinematography among the international branch circle, interested in this film genre.

    As earlier, the DVD will be promoted for free by the coordinators of the project at the most important foreign festivals and documentary film markets, and sent to the organizers of festivals and cultural institutions all around the world. The distribution will start at the International Documentary Film Market SUNNY SIDE OF THE DOC in La Rochelle in France, where for several years Krakow Film Foundation has been organizing and running the Polish stand. The DVD will be also promoted, among other, at such important festivals as IDFA, DOK Leipzig, Doclisboa, CPH:DOX, Doc/Fest Sheffield, Docpoint Helsinki, Hot Docs, Silverdocs, Visions du Reel.

    The DVD was recorded thanks to the financial support of Polish Film Institute.

    The compilation consists of 10 films:

    - "Six Weeks" by Marcin Janos Krawczyk

    - "Chemo" by Paweł Łoziński

    - "The Dog Hill" by Grzegorz Zariczny

    - "A screening at the Tatry Cinema" by Igor Chojna

    - "That's Life..." by Daniel Zieliński

    - " Let's run away from her" by Marcin Koszałka

    - "Out of reach" by Jakub Stożek

    - "Oh my God, dear God" by Julia Popławska

    - "Lovers" by Rafał Skalski

    - „H2O" by Tomasz Wolski


    The DVD includes also a booklet with a text about contemporary Polish documentary cinema and summaries of each film. Many of the presented films are the brand new one, premieres from the 50th Krakow Film Festival and awarded at this festival, such as "Out of reach" by Jakub Stożek (The Golden Dragon), "A screening at the Tatry cinema" by Igor Chojna (The Silver Hobby-Horse) and "The Dog Hill" by Grzegorz Zariczny (Wojciech Szumowski award).
