TALLINN: Estonian director Jaak Kilmi is currently in postproduction with his new feature film The Shadow / Vari.

SARAJEVO: After a 20-year-long hiatus, Bosnian director Dino Mustafić, whose debut film Remake (Refresh) won a Special Mention at the Berlin International Film Festival in 2003, is currently in production with his second feature. The Pavilion / Paviljon is a coproduction between Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, North Macedonia and Croatia, starring well-known actors Rade Šerbedžija, Miralem Zubčević, Mirjana Karanović and Ermin Bravo.

BRATISLAVA: Slovak director Martina Buchelová’s debut feature Lover, Not a Fighter / Milovník, nie bojovník has wrapped filming and will enter postproduction soon. This romantic tragicomedy is produced by Slovak NINJA film and Czech Unit+Sofa, and coproduced by the Radio and Television Slovakia.

BELGRADE: Latvia’s Forma Pro Films and Serbia’s Red Production are on board as producer and coproducer, respectively, of the new film by Russian director Kirill Serebrennikov, Disappearance / DSPR (working title). German actor August Diehl stars as Josef Mengele during his years on the run from Paraguay to the jungles of Brazil.

TALLINN: Acclaimed Finnish director/screenwriter Klaus Härö is currently shooting his feature film Never Alone / Ei koskaan yksin – Nie Allein, which is a Finnish/Swedish/Estonian/Austrian/German coproduction. The filming is taking place in Estonia, for 24 shooting days, and also in Finland.

PODGORICA: Amerissa Basta’s debut feature Life in a Beat has wrapped shooting in Athens, Greece. The film is a coproduction between Greece, North Macedonia, Cyprus and Montenegro.

BRATISLAVA: Slovak film director Rasťo Boroš has started the postroduction of his third feature Sluggard Clan Film / Ťapákovci after a 42-day shooting which took place in July-September 2023. The film is meant to be an allegorical fresco with elements of magical realism.

BUDAPEST: The Slovak-Hungarian director/writer Lea Podhradská is currently in production with the creative documentary My Father's Daughter / Apám lánya, about her sister who disappeared without a trace from Slovakia 27 years ago. The film is a Hungarian/Slovak coproduction.

BRATISLAVA: Martin Gonda’s debut feature Flood / Potopa is currently shooting, applying the principles of green filming. It is the second Slovak green film produced by Silverart.

BELGRADE: The Serbian-Canadian director Sanja Živković started shooting her sophomore feature Cat’s Cry / Mačiji krik, which was supposed to be directed by Goran Paskaljević. After the legendary director passed away in September 2020, his son Vladimir Paskaljević started producing the film in coproduction with Canadian and Croatian partners.

BUDAPEST: Hungarian director/writer Csaba Vékes is currently in production with the sports comedy The Rebound / Lepattanó, which will premiere in September 2024. The film stars American actor Patrick Duffy, well-known for the Dallas TV series, alongside Hungarian actor Péter Scherer.

PODGORICA: Montenegrin director Nikola Vukčević is currently in production with the long documentary The Sample: Return of Janko Nilović / THE SAMPLE: Povratak Janka Nilovića, which is supported by the Film Centre of Montenegro.

ZAGREB: The acclaimed Croatian writer/director Rajko Grlić has started shooting It All Ends Here / Svemu dođe kraj, the final film of a 50-years career in which he wrote 27 scripts and directed 30 films. It All Ends Here is a coproduction between Croatia, Bulgaria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Turkey, Serbia and Montenegro.

ZAGREB: The filming of the feature biopic Something Stronger Than Me - The Story of Dražen Petrović / Nešto jače od mene - priča o Draženu Petroviću directed by Danilo Šerbedžija, produced by Croatia’s Kinoteka in coproduction with  RTG Pictures (USA), Living Pictures (Serbia) and December (Slovenia) began in the Croatian city of Šibenik on 22 September 2023.

RIGA: Latvian director/writer/actor Marcis Lacis has entered postproduction with the horror comedy Touched by Eternity / Mūžības skartie.

SOFIA: Bulgarian director Stanislav Donchev is currently shooting his fourth feature film Before I Forget with support from the Bulgarian National Film Centre. Donchev’s production company Dynamic Arts, which is behind the project, is open to coproducers and sales companies.
