WARSAW: Polish, German and English crews are in production On the Sea with Badjao, a documentary that shows an ironic clash of cultures that knows no winner.

BRATISLAVA: Czech director Milan Cieslar is postproduction with the last work by Czech author Arnost Lustig, the screen adaptation of Lustig’s 1992 novel Colette. The film will be Cieslar’s first English language feature.

WARSAW: Director Małgorzata Kozera is in postproduction with the documentary Rebellion (Bunt) focused on the biggest anti-government riots in Eastern Europe in 1989, the year of the collapse of communism. Postproduction is taking place at Vision House in Warsaw.

BUCHAREST: Romanian born Paris-based director Anca Hirte is in postproduction with a bittersweet observational documentary In the Name of the Mayor.

BUCHAREST: Şerban Marinescu is in preproduction with To Paris, with the ID, a contemporary satire about the hopes of people who thought the fall of communism would be followed by fluid integration into Europe.

WARSAW: Scottish theatre director Lee Mackintosh Jones is making his feature film debut with a Mother, a UK-financed film shot in Poland.

WARSAW: Polish writer/producer/director Agnieszka Trzos is preparing to shoot the drama Not for Your Eyes in Poland and the UK in spring 2013.

COTTBUS: Lost in Munich directedy by Petr Zelenka, the Czech film which won the 2011 Connecting Cottbus (www.connecting-cottbus.de) Best Pitch Award, is in preproduction for a June 2013 shoot.

WARSAW: Wrestling in Dakar (Dakarskie zapasy), a Polish/French/British documentary which focuses on the first woman in the wrestling business, promoter and politician Ndeye Ndiaye Tyson, and two young Senegalese wrestlers, is in postproduction.

BUCHAREST: Following the international success of the animated documentary Crulic: The Path to Beyond, director Anca Damian is developing Eden Hotel, a psychological drama she is also producing through Aparte Film (www.apartefilm.net).

TBILISI: Dzma, a coproduction from Georgia and France has started filming in Tbilisi.

JIHLAVA: Jan Gogola, Jr.'s new documentary is an intimate portrait of the contemporary Czech artist Kateřina Šeda who is binding ordinary people through projects combining art and social initiative. Jiři Konečný is producing through endorfilm (www.endorfilm.cz).

JIHLAVA: Georgian director/producer Alexander Kvatashidze is in production with a feature documentary on war correspondents. The film will be a Georgian-Dutch-Estonian-French coproduction.

JIHLAVA: Romanian director/producer Alexandru Solomon is working on Tarzan's Testicles, a feature documentary on the Abkhazian Scientific Research Institute of Experimental Pathology and Therapy, established in 1927, a renowned primatology center during the Communist era where scientists tried to crossbreed humans and monkeys to demonstrate the triumph of the Revolution over religion.

WARSAW: Fumi Studio (www.fumistudio.com) is in the early stages of development with a 13-episode animated series for adults and children, Galaxy Taxi.

BUCHAREST: Radu Muntean (The Paper Will Be Blue, Boogie and Tuesday after Christmas) once again teams up with fellow screenwriters Răzvan Rădulescu and Alex Baciu, DOP Tudor Lucaciu and production company Multimedia Est (www.mme.ro) for One Floor Below.
