WARSAW: Jacek Bromski will start shooting the thriller Anatomy of Evil on 24 June 2014 in Warsaw and Szczecin.

NICOSIA: The Serbian director Vladan Nikolic is in preparation with a new feature he will shoot mainly in Greece (20 days), and with some additional shooting also in New York starting 16 June 2014.

VILNIUS: The Lithuanian feature film Crisis from young film director Andrius Blaževičius is in preproduction.

BUCHAREST: Nicolae Mărgineanu continues the investigation of the communist era with Poarta Albă, a feature about the concentration camp of Poarta Albă and the construction of the Danube-Black Sea channel.

BUCHAREST: Marius Iacob’s documentary The Wellness Process, recently awarded with Robert Bosch Stiftung Prize for International Cooperation between Germany and Eastern Europe at goEast Wiesbaden, is set to start shooting in June 2014.

ZAGREB: After spending four years in development, the Dutch/Croatian thriller from acclaimed Dutch director David Verbeek began filming in Croatia on 24 April 2014.

BUCHAREST: After receiving a production grant of 142,553 EUR/636,500 RON from the National Centre for Cinema on 9 April 2014, Alexandru Solomon’s new documentary is set to start shooting this summer.

BUCHAREST: Radu Jude's 1.4 m EUR film Aferim! has received 180,000 EUR from Film und Medienstiftung in advance of its mid-June 2014 production start.

BUCHAREST: Kiki Vasilescu's independent black comedy is in the last stages of postproduction and set for domestic release in June 2014.

RIGA: The Latvian-Finnish coproduction of Viesturs Kairiss’s historical drama Chronicles of Melanie (Melanijas hronika) resumes shooting in April with another filming segment scheduled for August 2014.

BUCHAREST: Using the same mix of animation techniques from Crulic - The Path to Beyond, Anca Damian heads with the second part of her trilogy on heroism into the life of Adam Jacek Winkler (1937-2002), a 20th century Polish Don Quixote.

BUCHAREST: The production company founded by Corneliu Porumboiu and Marcela Ursu is developing the first feature written and directed by Bogdan Mirică, a drama/thriller set in rural Romania with shooting planned for late summer 2014.

TALLINN: Finnish director Klaus Harö is shooting The Fencer (Vehkleja), planned to premiere in spring 2015, in Estonia.

ZAGREB: The new feature from the hit series opened with Koko and the Ghosts in 2011 written and directed again by Daniel Kušan will begin filming on 15 March 2014 and is set for opening on 27 November 2014.

BUCHAREST: After more than two years in development, the premiere feature of Vlad Păunescu, owner and CEO of Castel Film Studios, will start filming 14 April.
