WARSAW: Janusz Majewski is in development with an adaptation of his novel Black Mercedes. This crime story is set for shooting in 2018.

WARSAW: Władysław Pasikowski is in the last stages of development with a war biopic about Jan Nowak-Jeziorański (1914-2005), who was one of the most notable resistance fighters of the Home Army and served as a courier during WWII.

WARSAW: The first Polish Netflix series started shooting in Warsaw on 16 January 2018. The 8-episode series, which doesn’t have a title yet, is set in a world where the Iron Curtain never fell. The series will premiere on Netflix in 2018.

PRAGUE: Tomáš Weinreb and Petr Kazda, authors of the critically acclaimed I, Olga Hepnarova, are developing the love story Nobody Likes Me / Nikdo mě nemá rád. This Czech/French coproduction was selected for the upcoming Berlinale Co-production Market 2018.

TBILISI: Writer/director/producer Rati Tsiteladze is in the advanced development stage with The Empty House, an international coproduction set for shooting at the end of 2018. The project was selected for the 2018 Talent Project Market, a collaboration between the Berlinale Co-Production Market and Berlinale Talents.

BELGRADE: Mladen Kovačević is currently in production with his third long documentary Merry Christmas, Yiwu / Srećna Nova, Yiwu. This Serbian/French/Swedish coproduction is the first Serbian film ever to be almost entirely shot in the People’s Republic of China.

WARSAW: Silver Bear winner Małgorzata Szumowska’s new drama Mug is currently in final postproduction and will have its international premiere in the Competition of the 68th Berlin International Film Festival (15-25 February 2018).

BELGRADE: Next to Us / Pored nas, a sequel to the high school hit Next to Me / Pored mene (2015) will be shot in spring 2018 and released in early 2019. The sequel will be directed by Stevan Filipović, who directed Next to Me.

RIGA: Director Aigars Grauba is currently in postproduction with English language historical drama The Pagan King, starring British actor James Blurr and Swedish actor Edvin Erre. Made with a budget of 3 m EUR, the film produced by Platforma Filma and supported by the National Film Centre of Latvia is one of the most expensive Latvian films to date.

WARSAW: Oscar nominated Polish filmmaker Bartosz Konopka has just finished shooting The Mute, a Polish/Belgian coproduction starring Krzysztof Pieczyński and Karol Bernacki.
