PIESTANY: The Slovak film festival Cinematik (www.cinematik.sk) has given the Film Europe Award for best feature-length Slovak documentary to Bells of Happiness (Zvonky šťastia) by Marek Šulík and Jana Bučka (www.zudro.sk).

ADANA: Fourteen Turkish films were selected from 42 applicants to screen in the 19th Golden Boll National Feature competition (17-23 September 2012, www.altinkozafestivali.org.tr), vying for 350,000 TL in prizes.

PIESTANY: Four long Slovak documentaries will screen in the Cinematik film festival (www.cinematik.sk) documentary competition, taking place 7-13 September 2012 in the Slovak spa resort of Piestany.

ADANA: The 19th Golden Boll Film Festival (17-23 September 2012, www.goldenbollfilmfestival.com) will launch the first Turkish film market, Bazaar Adana, in association with the Film Producers Association of Turkey, SE-YAP (www.se-yap.org.tr).

MEDIAS, ROMANIA: The second edition of the Medias Central European Film Festival (www.meceff.ro), running 2-8 September 2012, will screen seven films from seven Central European countries in its official competition.
