SARAJEVO: The up-and-coming Bosnian and Herzegovinian film director Gorčin Zec is preparing for the shoot of his first long documentary A Journey to Mastery / Put do majstorstva, about his father, the famous painter Safet Zec.

SARAJEVO: Igor Drljača, whose previous feature film The Waiting Room (TimeLapse Pictures) premiered at the Locarno Film Festival, has started postproduction on his third feature film Tabija (working title). The project was awarded the Eurimages Co-production Award at Rotterdam Film Festival’s Cinemart Co-production Market in 2014.

SARAJEVO: Pjer Žalica, whose debut Fire! (Refresh, 2003) won the Silver Leopard at the Locarno Film Festival, started production on his third feature film Focus, Grandma / Koncentriši se, baba (working title) on 28 October 2019 in Sarajevo.

SARAJEVO: Nermin Hamzagić’s debut feature film Full Moon / Pun mjesec is one of the 12 films competing at the 29th FilmFestival Cottbus, which takes place 5 – 10 November 2019

SARAJEVO: Romanian writer and short film director Cecilia Ștefănescu, whose short film Morski briz (2018) competed for the Heart of Sarajevo, returns with her debut feature project The Great Adventure to CineLink Co-production Market (20-22 August 2019) in the framework of Sarajevo Film Festival's CineLink Industry Days.

SARAJEVO: The government of Sarajevo Canton has announced it will allocate approximately 1 m EUR / 2 m BAM of its budget for film and television production grants starting in 2020. The new initiative will work as a rebate of an as yet unspecified share of qualified production costs to the local producer, co-producer or executive producer from the government budget. The amount of the rebate will be calculated using a clearly defined formula and could be as much as 30% for some projects.

SARAJEVO: Romanian director Emanuel Pârvu, who won the Heart of Sarajevo for Best Director for his debut feature Meda or The Not So Bright Side of Things / Meda sau Partea nu prea fericită a lucrurilor  (FamArt, 2017), returns with his new project Trust / Încredere to the CineLink Co-production Market (20-22 August 2019) in the framework of Sarajevo Film Festival’s CineLink Industry Days.

SARAJEVO: Macedonian director Teona Strugar Mitevska, whose last film God Exists, Her Name is Petrunija won the Ecumenical Jury Prize and Guild Film Prize at the 2019 Berlinale, is presenting her next film project The Happiest Man in the World or Lessons in Love at the CineLink Co-production Market (20-22 August 2019) in the framework of Sarajevo Film Festival’s CineLink Industry Days.

SARAJEVO: Croatian writer/director Goran Kulenović will present the dark humour thriller Death of the Little Match Girl, based on Zoran Ferić’s novel, at the CineLink Co-Production Market (20-22 August 2019) in the framework of Sarajevo Film Festival’s CineLink Industry Days.
