Cyprus Set for Digital Switch

By FNE Staff

The Cyprus minister of Communications and Works announced that Cyprus is prepared to end analog transmission on 1 July 2011. Until then, digital and analog transmissios will be operating in parallel.

According to a report in the Financial Mirror, two terrestrial digital networks, which will replace analog TV, received licenses in 2010. One of those, CyBC (www.cybc.com.cy), has begun transmissions, while the second is to begin operating in the near future.
