Cyprus Completing Switch to Digital

    Cyprus television stations are broadcasting via both analogue and terrestrial digital in the last weeks before analogue TV transmissions cease. The deadline for complete transition to digital is 1 July 2011, as announced the the Ministry of Communications.

    Digital TV, which was launched in Cyprus in 2010, is being broadcast by satellite (on the NOVA Cyprus platform), cable, and broadband (on CytaVision and PrimeTel).

    Cyprus has 281,000 households with 100% of the households equipped with televisions.
