PRODUCTION: Erdelyi’s Security in preproduction

By Gyorgy Karpati

Daniel Erdelyi's second feature film, Security, is in preproduction, the director told FNE, with filming planned for the first half of 2010.

Security will be a mixed genre movie about a couple's relationship with unexpected turns of events. The film is produced by Katapult Film (www.katapultfilm.hu) and managing producer Ivan Angelusz.

The €1 million film plans a 30-day shoot on location in Budapest, and Miskolc.

The project won development support from the Board of the Motion Picture Section of the National Cultural Fund of Hungary (www.nka.hu). The script took part at the Script East pitching forum at the Berlinale in February and is also invited for a pitching forum in Cannes in May.

Producers are touting international market and festival potential.

Security is likely to premier at the 2011 Hungarian Film Week. The national and international distribution rights are still available.
