PRODUCTION: Serbian Darko Bajić in Production with Svetozar Miletić Biopic

    BELGRADE: Serbian helmer Darko Bajić is shooting his new feature film Svetozar Miletić (aka Fathers of Liberty / Očevi slobode) on location in Serbia, including Belgrade, Novi Sad, Sremski Karlovci, Vršac, Subotica and Sombor.

    This is a historical drama about a former politician, the mayor of Novi Sad and lawyer Svetozar Miletic (1826-1901) and his struggle for the annexation of Vojvodina to the Kingdom of Serbia in the 19th century.

    Bajić is directing from a screenplay by Milovan Vitezović, dramatised by Kosta Peševski, Slobodan Terzić and the director himself. The film is produced by Zillion Film with executive producer Košutnjak Film. The producer is Lazar Ristovski and the executive producer is Zoran Janković.

    The film is lensed by Zoran Jovanović Zofr and the cast includesa Ljubomir Bandović, Žarko Laušević, Katarina Žutić, Anja Pavićević, Andrija Kuzmanović, Nikola Ristanovski, Milutin Mima Karadžić, Dragan Petrović Pele, Radovan Vujović, Ana Franić and Arpad Mesaroš.

    This project is supported by the Provincial Government of Vojvodina, Film Center Serbia, the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Serbia, the City of Novi Sad and RTV - Radio-television Vojvodina..

    The principle shooting began on 4 October 2019 and will last seven weeks. The film will premiere in Novi Sad in May 2020. No official budget details have been disclosed.
