Finnish filmmaker Jussi Hiltunen was awarded the Best International Short Film at 57th Cork Corona Film Festival for his All Hallows Week. The film captures the trauma following a random act of violence and had its international premiere at the Berlinale earlier this year.

TBILISI: Polish director Slawomir Fabicki took home the Golden Prometheus, the top award of the international competition, at the 13th Tbilisi International Film Festival (www.tbilisifilmfestival.ge) for his film Loving.  Georgian director Giorgy Parajanov took home the Silver Prometheus award for Best Director for the Georgian Czech and Russian coproduction Everybody’s Gone.

Films selected for East Silver Videolibrary will be included also in the 10th East Silver Market edition, annually held on the backdrop of the 17th Jihlava International Documentary Film Festival in October 23 – 28, 2013, Jihlava, Czech Republic.

Ploiesti is the 12th Romanian city with a Cinema City multiplex

Yesterday Cinema City celebrated the gala opening of its multiplex in Ploiesti, Romania. The cinema will start operations on December 7. The cinema in Ploiesti has 12 halls with 2089 seats and it is 100% digital with maximum capacity for 3D projection. This is the 2nd CCI's cinema opened this year in Romania - in April 2012, Cinema City opened its multiplex with 8 halls and 1774 seats in the city of Constanta. The new cinema in Ploiesti is the first modern multiplex in the city.

WARSAW: Film Spring Open (www.filmspringopen.eu/previs.html), a new system for creating "previsualizations" (or Previs) for feature proposals, is hoped to boost both the prospects of indie filmmakers and the number of productions completed in the future.
