Meetings on the Bridge continues to bring together film professionals from Europe and Turkey and giving place to first international presentations of feature length fiction and documentary films that are in post-production.
Eighth edition of Meetings on the Bridge will take place on 5-12 April this year, under the sponsorship of Efes. Efes, who has been supporting the Turkish cinema, also “International Competition” and “Turkish Cinema” sections of Istanbul Film Festival “for the past 26 years, will now be supporting the films from the beginning of the development and production stages.
The 5 films selected for the second edition of Work In Progress Workshop are as follows:
* Kalandar Soğuğu / Cold of Kalandar (Mustafa Kara)
* Kar Korsanları / Snow Pirates (Faruk Hacıhafızoğlu)
* Kusursuzlar / The Impeccables (Ramin Matin)
* Sesimi İzle / Watch My Soundtrack (Koray Ezgin)
* Sivas (Kaan Müjdeci)
The award winning film of last year’s workshop “Strangers in the House/Eve Gelen Yabancılar” (Dilek Keser, Ulaş Güneş Kacargil) will be screened in the New Turkish Cinema section of the Istanbul Film Festival. “The Cycle/Devir” (Derviş Zaim) selected for the workshop last year is participating in the National Competition.
Workshop on 10-11 April
The award winning films will be decided by the international jury of distributors, festival representatives and producers, at the end of the Work In Progress Workshop.
Producers of the award winning films will be granted with 10.000 American DolarEFES AWARD, to be used for the publicity of the filmand 1000VOLT Post-Prodüksiyon Award, to be used for the finalization of post production process of the film.
The award-winning projects of the Work In Progress Workshop will be announced at the Meetings on the Bridge award reception on Thursday, 11 April at the French Palais.
