RIJEKA: The third season of Hotel Portofino starring Natascha McElhone is currently shooting in Croatia. The British TV series serviced by Drugi Plan is the biggest international production filming in Croatia in the summer of 2023, with a total local expenditure exceeding 5.6 m EUR.
PULA: The documentary Bigger Than Trauma by Vedrana Pribačić won the Great Golden Arena for best film at the 70th Pula Film Festival, which took place 15 – 22 July 2023.
ZAGREB: Tea Vidović Dalipi is in final postproduction with her long documentary Snajka: Diary of Expectations, which is a coproduction between Croatia, Italy and Kosovo supported by the Croatian Audiovisual Centre.
ZAGREB: The shooting of a feature film with the working title Happy People, directed by Filip Peruzović and produced by Dinaridi film with support from the Croatian Audiovisual Centre (HAVC), started in Zagreb. Famous Croatian actors Nina Violić and Filip Šovagović are in the main roles.
FESTIVALS: Croatian Projects to Be Showcased at Pula Pro within Pula Film Festival 2023
Croatia 13-07-2023PULA: Nine feature and documentary film projects directed by Igor Bezinović, Ivan Salaj and Goran Dević, among others, will be showcased at the industry programme Pula Pro, which will be held within the 70th Pula Film Festival (15 - 23 July 2023).
RIJEKA: Italian Oscar winner Gabriele Salvatores is currently shooting his new feature film Naples - New York in Croatia, on locations in and around Rijeka city. The screenplay was originally written by Federico Fellini and Tulio Pinelli, but Fellini failed to finalise the project. Italian production company Paco Cinematografica bought the script and is producing.
LOPUD: The team behind the Ponta Lopud Film Festival and the Sarajevo Film Festival have announced their new project, the Regional Film and TV Academy, during the 3rd edition of the Ponta Lopud FF, which took place on the Croatian island of Lopud 20 – 24 June 2023.
ZAGREB: The Croatian Audiovisual Centre (HAVC) has distributed 2.572 m EUR for the production of two feature films and eight long documentaries, including one first long documentary. The two feature film projects are directed by Igor Šeregi and Nevio Marasović.
PULA: Fourteen long films including 11 feature films, one animated film and two documentaries are in the Croatian film section of the 70th Pula Film Festival, which will take place 15 – 22 July 2023. The war drama Hotel Pula directed by Andrej Korovljev and produced by Pula’s Kinematograf will open the festival.
DUBROVNIK: Ten keynotes, more than 60 speakers, exclusive screenings and special announcements are in the programme of New Europe Market Dubrovnik, which will take place from 5 to 8 June 2023.
